Capercaillie Cruisers, based in Falkirk, Scotland, have worked over several years with a variety of boat hire companies, and have dealt with various boat builders.
The business saw an opportunity to have new boats built for their fleet, but this at a time when the industry had been regressing due to the financial constraints imposed by the recession. Low cost builders were making moves to enter the market, but, fearing poorer quality of both build and fit-out being imposed on their fleet, Capercaillie sought out a new entrant company, who had in-house expertise and a new approach to the technical aspects of boat building.
Ortomarine’s first fully fitted out boat was delivered in Summer of 2015, on time and on budget. Further boats have followed, and the two built specifically for the Scottish fleet have been received with great acclaim by customers and gongoozlers alike.
Attention to detail, good communication between end customer and shell builder, and not afraid to make innovative changes and suggestions to improve things mark this company out.
Building both high quality one-off boats but also vessels for the hire market that stand out from the crowd is a tough task, but so far Ortomarine are showing that they know what they are doing and bodes well for their future.
