Our latest boat launch took place in May up at Tattenhall marina. “Minerva” is our 8th Serial Hybrid Narrowboat and the most highly qualified yet for tackling the toughest of inland waterways. The boat features Lithium Batteries, a 20kW motor, large solar panel array, and keel tank-cooled Fisher Panda Generator. Our initial cruise out of Tattenhall marina showed signs that this boat will be incredibly efficient in operation, we managed to do the whole 3 hour cruise on solar power, on a relatively cloudy day, even allowing for several tea rounds!
The Mythology experts out there will have noticed that new owners, Roger and Jason, have opted to name their boat after the Roman goddess of wisdom. As Minerva is often depicted with her pet owl, it seemed only right that her owl was included here as well!
