Many of you will know the original Ortomarine boat, ‘Bartimaeus’, which has been back in the Ortomarine workshop over the past few months for an exciting transformation.
Originally launched in July 2019 as a parallel hybrid, Bartimaeus has spent several years happily cruising the waterways, giving her owners Shane and Clare the opportunity to explore and enjoy the network. Having now covered the areas where the additional power assistance of a diesel engine was most beneficial, they decided it was the perfect time to take the next step in their journey and convert their much-loved boat to a series hybrid system.
The conversion allows Bartimaeus to maximise her environmental credentials, offering even quieter and more sustainable cruising while allowing Shane and Clare to fully embrace the peace and tranquillity of the waterways.
We are delighted to report that Bartimaeus was successfully relaunched on 24th June, and Shane and Clare are once again back on the water where they belong, ready for many more adventures aboard their beautifully evolved hybrid boat.
