Quality, Innovation and Style
As one of the UK's leading specialists in electric narrowboats, Ortomarine’s goal is to build environmentally friendly boats that both reduce the vessel’s “carbon footprint” and create a quieter, cleaner and more natural boating experience.
Having specified/built over 30 boats with different forms of electric propulsion and with our extensive electrical engineering background we are uniquely placed to build reliable, user-friendly, electric boats which our customers love – just take a look at our customers’ thoughts page or contact us to speak directly to any of our customers to hear what they think!
Imagine cruising in near silence, with zero emissions, at one with nature - that is the Ortomarine experience. We will guide you through the design process, balancing your bespoke requirements with cost effective, proven solutions, ensuring your dreams are realised, on time and within budget.
When you commission an Ortomarine boat, you can be sure that every aspect of the external, internal and technical design is completed to a single high standard. For this reason, we only accept orders for "Fully Fitted" designs and not for "Hull Only" or "Sail Away" builds.
As of June 2026 our next available build slot is for boat completion in the Autumn of 2027, but things do change occasionally so if you are interested in a new build please contact us. We are also working with several other boat builders including Aqua Narrowboats, Elton Moss, and Perrydale Narrowboats to help them to offer reliable electric propulsion options. If you are in the market for a new electric boat, but would prefer not to wait for us to build it for you, please contact any of the above, or speak to your preferred boat builder about working with us!
