September saw the launch of our 13th serial hybrid narrowboat “Amastra”. There is a lot of superstition around the number 13, both good and bad, however we are hoping that new owners, Steve and Eileen Brown have nothing but good luck and happy adventures aboard their new home!
The name Amastra has special meaning for Steve and Eileen, as it was the name of the Shell Tanker vessel where they first met. Fun fact: Shell names all its ships after the Latin names of shells – Amastra is the Latin name of a Hawaiian snail shell, which seems quite fitting for the slow-paced life on board a narrowboat! To find out more about Amastra, please see our boat portfolio page.
