Sundance

Sundance is our tenth parallel hybrid narrowboat and showcases the continued evolution of our trusted Ortomarine design. Built on a 59ft Tim Tyler semi-cruiser stern hull, she features our proven reverse layout and is powered by the Hybrid Marine Enhanced parallel hybrid system—combining a 10kW electric drive with a Beta Marine 43HP diesel engine, backed by a 775Ah lead acid battery bank. A 2.4kW solar array and Vetus brushless bow thruster round out the system, all seamlessly integrated and managed through our OrtoMate control and monitoring platform.

Inside, Sundance offers a spacious and practical layout beginning with a generous galley at the stern. This well-equipped kitchen includes a Hoover electric oven, 2.8kW hob, Indesit 121L undercounter fridge, and a Panasonic 20L microwave—making onboard cooking both comfortable and convenient.

Our multi-function Duplex Dinette comes next, along with an open plan living area. The walk-through bathroom features a large rectangular shower and Compoost Toilet. At the bow of the boat, our customer opted for two fixed single berth beds rather than a double, allowing for easier access through the boat.

Natural light fills the boat thanks to Caldwells’ double-glazed silver powder-coated windows (36” x 21”) and matching 18” portholes throughout, complemented by a well-positioned side hatch to bring in extra daylight and fresh air.

As with all of our recent builds, Sundance was launched with a full tank of HVO in place of red diesel, aligning with our continued commitment to environmentally conscious boat building.
