The layout and specification of “Felicity” is a tried and tested Ortomarine formula – 58’6” length; reverse layout; semi-cruiser style stern; Hybrid Marine Enhanced parallel hybrid system (10kW Electric Drive, 775Ah lead acid battery bank, with Beta Marine 50HP diesel engine); large 2.4kW solar array; bow thruster; all monitored/controlled by our OrtoMate system.

She is modelled on one of our most popular layouts, including galley kitchen, our multi-function Duplex Dinette, open plan living area, and walk-through bathroom with large rectangular shower and Compoost Toilet. However, the bedroom is quite different to any of our previous boats. Matt & Pauline set us the challenge to incorporate an electrically adjustable bed, which could also form part of a larger double bed.  We built a 2’6” fixed single bed with an electrically operated base on the port side of the bedroom. On the starboard side, we built a folding 2’6” bed, which folds neatly into an oak effect unit during the day, but by night can be folded down to meet the fixed bed to form a large double bed.  I’m pleased to say that the functionality and comfort achieved for Matt & Pauline has exceeded their expectations!

Our remote control system OrtoPilot, is also fitted to the boat.  This controls both the electric motor and the bow thruster so that the boat can be manoeuvred into and out of locks and through swing bridges, from the towpath.

As with all of our new boats, Felicity was filled with a tank full of HVO at launch, rather than red diesel in order to help maintain our desire to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
