We were hoping to see something of the sun for the launch of its namesake “Sundance”, but the weather had other ideas unfortunately. This is our tenth Hybrid Marine parallel hybrid boat and is equipped with 1.8kW of solar on the roof, which the owners, Eddie & Heather, are hoping will allow them to enjoy many hours of free sunny cruising – in the summer months. They are selling their house in Stroud to become continuous cruisers, but wanted to give a nod to their hometown – hence “Brimscombe Port” painted underneath the boat name. Those of you who know about the Cotswold Canals Restoration project may have heard of Brimscombe Port which lies on the old Thames and Severn Canal and is a key area in the restoration works, just south of Stroud.
