“Eau de Folles” is the latest addition to the Ortomarine family. The owners (Neil and Linda Cocksedge) previously owned one of the few working steam narrowboats operating on the UK canals, called Tixall. They skipped several iterations of engine design when they decided to go for all-electric propulsion for their new boat!
The name comes from Linda & Neils’ favourite restaurant in Toulouse where they dined on their first canal holiday together in 1998 along the Canal du Midi.
At just 45ft in length, this serial electric hybrid narrowboat with “S” Shaped swim is incredibly easy to manoeuvre. Neil & Linda are hoping they will be able to moor in those shorter spaces often left between boats where there are no other spaces! They will not be living aboard, so the boat suits their needs perfectly for extended holidays, with room for 2 guests. The shorter length will also save them ongoing costs for marina moorings & their CRT licence (plus they will quality for the 25% discount for electric boats).
See our Boat Portfolio page for more photos and details about this 45ft semi-trad serial hybrid narrowboat.
